State Leadership Conference 2026

The State Leadership Conference for high school students is a two-day conference held each spring. The conference consists of a general session, competitive events, workshops, activities, awards and recognition, and vendors. All Vermont FBLA winners have the opportunity to represent our state at the National Conference. A sneak peek of the upcoming conference is below.

Policies
Adviser Duties
All advisers and chaperones are expected to support the conference by completing their assigned duties. Assigned duties may include, but are not limited to, competitive event check-in, serving as a competitive event timer, general room supervision, tour supervision, and other tasks necessary to support conference operations.
Technology Policy

No technology or AV equipment will be provided to competitors by Vermont FBLA.

Each student competitor is responsible for providing their own device. This includes objective testing, which will be completed online.

No projectors will be allowed by competitors.

All technology guidelines set by the state and national office, and listed in the competitive event guidelines, must be followed.

WIFI is not guaranteed for all performance events.
Objective
Tests
-
The objective tests will continue to take place at the student’s home school during a 2‐week testing window before the State Leadership Conference. There is no specific limit on how many objective tests a student
may participate in as long as the student completes each of their tests. The top 4 winners from each of these events will be announced in the afternoon on the second day of the SLC. -
Team events with a test component – each team member will take the test individually. Test scores will be averaged. All team members must complete the objective test, or the team will be disqualified.

Advisers will submit all prejudged components in the conference registration system.

A Student or group (2 or more) of students may compete in one judged event at the SLC.

Exceptions to National guidelines: presentation events with a set‐up time will only have 1 minute at
Vermont SLC and finalists do not have access to and are not permitted to use projectors. -
Prejudged projects will NOT be available to students or judges on the day of SLC.

Student IDs will be required for check-in for all competitive events. IDs may be physical or electronic versions.

Schools are not required to stay overnight. However, anyone who has opted out of the hotel will be responsible for driving to the conference each day and arriving on time for that day’s events, including competitions. More information will be included in the SLC Call to Conference.
